The online courses focus on:

  • The consequences of selling alcohol to those underage and intoxicated people.
  • Communication techniques to refuse sale and service of alcohol where necessary and to handle difficult situations.
  • Methods server staff can use to better promote and support responsible choices.
  • Advice on appropriate ways to respond if server staff are asked directly for drinking advice.

The resources will be available in several languages. They are part of IARD’s growing suite of tools that support businesses to uphold the highest standards of responsible practices, to help reduce harmful drinking. This suite also includes IARD’s 2022’s resources to support retailers and e-commerce platforms in ensuring that their delivery agents do not delivery alcohol to those underage or intoxicated.
